Please arrive by 2:30 PM — and we do mean 2:30. There is parking on the estate, but the walk from the car park winds through the gardens to the Amphitheatre and takes longer than you would think. Give yourself the full half hour: the ceremony begins at 3:00 sharp, and we would hate for you to meet us on the way in.

When the last song fades, the sensible ones will call a taxi. Everyone else knows where to go. No speeches, no seating plan, and no promises about how any of us will feel on Sunday.

Garden formal, in high summer. Picture a lawn in December — soft colour, light fabric, and a heel that will forgive you for the grass. Hats and linen very much encouraged.
A midi or maxi in a soft summer shade. Floaty fabric, a sun hat if the mood takes you, and block heels or flats — the ceremony is on grass.
Linen or a lightweight suit in a pale tone. Open collar or a tie, sleeves you can roll by the third song, and loafers over hard dress shoes.
One small ask for the ladies: no white, and no red. White belongs to the bride for the day, and red pulls every camera in the garden.
